Why We Do It

Institue for Leadership Studies & History

"...unleashing human potential and changing the world."

What We Do

The Institute for Leadership Studies and History specializes in strategic and practical executive development for individuals identified as potential corporate leaders.

Ours is a unique executive development program that will significantly change your view of leadership. The Institute stands out in its focus for a variety of reasons:

  • We are the only organization that bases its programs on a unique source: historical analysis of leadership and its practical application to the business world. The Institute not only uses time- tested guidance, taken from centuries of history, but also vividly shows how corporate leaders can immediately apply this to their business model.
  • Issues critical to leadership—team building, using intuition, managing sales forces, establishment and effective execution of corporate missions—are unchanged over thousands of years. We show you exactly what has been done in the past and how you can best apply to your organization in the present.
  • The Institute has synthesized centuries of leadership and created a cognitive model to help upper managers learn to draw lessons from history and apply them to their own careers and the leadership of their companies. (For more information on this model see the section “How We Do It.”)
  • We have developed a model of “practical history” which is more memorable and more directly applicable to real world business problems than standard M.B.A. level courses and programs. (For more information see the section “About Us.”)
  • The problem we solve is how best to transform upper management teams into thinking like great leaders in politics and war. These new leaders will be fully prepared to face critical business problems in a new way. They will be confident they have learned to apply time-tested historical lessons to their business, consciously thinking of themselves not just as corporate officers but as business-statesmen educated in the lessons of history and corporate management.

Seminars and courses are held at the client’s corporate site. We also fit extremely well into off-site executive retreats, either as a pre-retreat preparation for new ways of thinking about business problems or at the retreat site itself.
